Verizon Wireless is a recognized leader for its commitment to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue.

Verizon Wireless HopeLineŽ program collects no-longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider at their Communications Stores nationwide.

The Numbers

Since it's launch in 2001, HopeLine's recycling and re-use program has:

  • Has collected more than5 million phones
  • Awarded more than $5 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations throughout the country
  • Distributed more than 60,000 phones with more than 180 million minutes of free wireless service to be used by victims of domestic violence
  • Properly disposed of more than 1 million no-longer-used wireless phones in an environmentally sound way
  • Kept more than 200 tons of electronic waste and batteries out of landfills

Hope

#HOPE is a service available on all Verizon Wireless' nationwide wireless network. By dialing #HOPE (#4673) Send, hotline advocates are available for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals to agencies in all 50 states. The call is toll and airtime free.
